Designing an app from the ground up

The Taybl app originally started life as a food safety management app, designed to make compliance with the UK Safer Food, Better Business guidance easier. Since the first idea though, Taybl has now grown into a full restaurant management platform with mobile apps, desktop admin panels and full owner backend control.

A substantial feature list, made simple

Through extensive planning, research and live venue trials, we developed a robust platform that can handle millions of simultaneous users across the multiple access points to the app – the staff app, the admin portal and the end users – guests booking a table.

By the time we’d finished adding every useful feature, the platforms final version included an AI rota builder, informed by bookings, historical trends, staff availability and even the weather! The “simple” bookings app now includes wait lists, pre-orders, deposits & more, and the food safety app won the praise of an EHO with: “Any venue using taybl would be well on their way to 4 or 5 stars”
